The screw screen compactor is an integral part of the screening process, primarily aimed at retaining solids present in the effluent. This equipment combines three processes: filtration, transportation, and compaction. Filtration is performed through a screen with variable diameters and transportation through a shaftless screw. Finally, compaction occurs in the compaction chamber.
The separation and retention of waste materials carried out by the compactor screen help protect the various downstream equipment at the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP).
The main advantages of this type of equipment are:
•Fully automatic operation, with the possibility of variable rotation speed according to needs;
•High level of compaction, achieving maximum reduction of waste volume;
•The inclination system allows for inspection of the filtration screen and the screw at any time.
This equipment can be installed in a channel or tank, and in addition to filtration, transportation, and compaction, it can perform self-cleaning. Regarding construction materials: the structure can be made of 304L or 316L stainless steel, the screw can be made of carbon steel or 304L or 316L stainless steel, and the wear bars can be made of hardox, teflon, or 316L stainless steel.
